How to Make Disinfectant Chlorine Dioxide
Chlorine dioxide can be made by mixing one drop of Part 1 (sodium chlorite dilution) with one drop of Part 2 (a diluted acid activator) in a clean and dry glass. Swirl the two drops and allow 40 seconds to activate. The result becomes the disinfectant chlorine dioxide.

Taking Chlorine Dioxide
Once you have activated equal parts of sodium chlorite and the acid and allowed them to activate, you can add the water that you want to drink, stir and allow the disinfectant chlorine dioxide to perform it task, then drink the water safely.
Chlorine dioxide is not safe for human consumption without properly diluting. Drinking chlorine dioxide without diluting would be equivalent to drinking undiluted bleach and is not recommended under any circumstances.
Both substances (chlorine dioxide, and uncolored, unscented household bleach), are recommended for use for disinfecting potentially contaminated water in emergency situations, though the disinfectant chlorine dioxide is 2.6 times more effective at killing pathogens than bleach (without the side effects), and it kills a wider range of pathogens (others that cannot be affected by bleach).
The FDA warns that the disinfectant chlorine dioxide is not approved and should not be taken for use as a drug to treat or cure any disease.
Chlorine Dioxide Shelf Life
Chlorine dioxide pre-activated and mixed with water, as in the case of CDS 3000, or chlorine-dioxide-purified water, i.e., 1 gallon of purified water, can be sealed tight and refrigerated for up to a year without loss of potency, though there is a common consensus that it should be used within 30 days of opening.
The two-part mixture can be stored, sealed, and kept in a cool, dark place, free from direct sunlight, for up to four years or more if kept separate and unmixed, even after opening.
Once you have made a batch for use, i.e., a four or eight-ounce serving of purified water, it is best consumed within the hour, though it can be stored in an airtight PET plastic or glass container (non-metallic) and refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
Chlorine Dioxide Kalcker
Andreas Ludwig Kalcker has long been a proponent of using chlorine dioxide, water purification drops, CDS 3000, and has been a supporter of Jim Humble and Humble’s MMS, Miracle Mineral Solution. Jim Humble’s daughter, Paris Humble remembers the days when Kalcker would meet with her father and discourse for hours about the health benefits of chlorine dioxide in both humans and animals.
Biophysicist Andreas Kalcker who resides in Switzerland wrote an excellent book about chlorine dioxide and its benefits as applied to many popular health complaints including recipes and application methodologies called, Forbidden Health, Incurable Was Yesterday.
As the title might suggest, Kalcker addressed many “incurable” and lethal diseases and claimed that the solutions or cures could be found in the chlorine dioxide solution. The book, as you may have guessed, was promptly banned by Amazon and other distributors.
Chlorine Dioxide to Buy
By visiting outdoor shops where outdoor sports and recreation products are sold, one should be able to find chlorine dioxide to buy as water purification drops. Most commonly these chlorine dioxide water purification drops come in a two-part set. One part is diluted sodium chlorite, and the other is a diluted activating acid, like citric acid.
By combining one drop of each and allowing the chemical reaction to take place, generally half a minute to a full minute, one has created chlorine dioxide which can be used to purify otherwise potentially toxic or contaminated surface water, making it safe to drink.
Since manufacturers and methods vary, consult the instructions that accompany the product which should be printed on the back of the bottle.
Note that pre-mixed chlorine dioxide is available as chlorine dioxide solution or CDS 3000 where the 3000 represents the 3,000 parts per million (PPM) concentration. CDS 3000 is quite expensive as it is manufactured by the process of distillation. You could make far more chlorine dioxide for far less by using the two-part do-it-yourself economical DIY process.
